A Better Educated Workforce
An interactive graph prepared by The Telltale Chart traces the improvements in the educational levels of low-wage workers in the United States between 1980 and 2010. In 1979, 40 percent of low-wage workers had not completed high school, compared to almost 20 percent in 2011. Similarly, the share of low-wage workers with come college education increased to 43 percent from 25 percent. Use the graph below to find comparable data for individual states.
