State Budget Woes

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities has updated its state budget shortfall projections for fiscal years 2011 and 2012.  The center currently estimates that total state budget shortfalls for fiscal year 2012 will total some $140 billion.

Additionally, as the graph below shows, state revenues remain far below pre-recession levels.
